132 Upper and lower horizon limit

The upper/lower limit of the horizon depth (in cm).

• The limit between organic and mineral horizons corresponds to 0 cm.

• For organic horizons, the limits are negative values.

• For mineral horizons, the limits are positive values.

• Use “999” to report the lower horizon limit of parent rock for which the exact lower limit is unknown.

Note: On peat soils thicker than 40 cm, the 0 cm line is located at the upper limit of the peat layer.
