99 Lichen species code

Dictionary: d_species_list

The species code is assembled by:

  • the code for the family (500),
  • the code for the genus (001-999)
  • and the code for the species (001-999)

Family, genus, and species codes are separated by a dot (“.“).

Code ‘999’ is generally used for indetermined species (sp./spp.).

Different indetermined species: In case you have several indetermined lichen species of the same genus, e.g. two different ‘500.198.999’, then comment this in field other_obs in this pattern: ‘indetermined species 1’, ‘indetermined species 2’ etc.

If this occurs also for another genus, restart the continuous numbering from 1 again.
